We sew tulle from the grid with our own hands

Quite often, different types of mesh are used as material for tulle. The material is very beautiful, but capricious, requiring special attention and approach to processing. However, this does not mean at all that only craftsmen in a professional curtain cabin can sew tulle from a net. It is quite possible to cope with this task on our own, in a comfortable home environment. It is enough just to carefully study the properties of your grid and follow the instructions below.

First of all, the sides of the tulle are treated. As a rule, this is the usual seam in the bend with a closed cut, in finished form with a width of 2 to 3 cm (depending on the density of the fabric). Grids are of two types - soft plastic and rigid. The first ones are rather difficult to hem, especially without preliminary wet-thermal preparation, the second ones are somewhat simpler. In any case, it is best to prepare the sides in advance, and only then lay out the machine stitch. To do this, gently, without stretching along the length, press the side sections of tulle onto the wrong side for 4-6 cm.Then the stock should be bent in half width inwards. To prevent the fabric from twisting during sewing, the allowances should be fixed with pins every 15-20 cm. We sew tulle from the net with our own hands
After that you need to sew the sides of the tulle at a distance of 2 mm from the inner bent edge. At the stage of laying the machine stitch the following difficulties can arise: the machine knocks the edge of the fabric at the beginning of the line, the stitch is looped, the stitching passes. To not machine the edge of the net, you need to sew without basting, at the beginning of the line you need to leave quite long ends of the thread, for which you can slowly pull up the fabric, helping its movement. The stitch length must not be small. Then the sewing process will move much easier and faster. It is better to loosen the thread tension a little. Then the finished side seam will not tighten. If the stitch starts to loop, or if stitching is missing, you may need to put a knitting needle. If this does not help, or if it helps a little, you need to use a zigzag instead of a straight line. It is desirable, of course, before starting work to try to sew an unnecessary piece of tulle to make sure that the line is beautiful and of high quality. If there is a pattern on the tulle, for example strips, you should carefully monitor that it matches.

Then you need to work on the bottom of the tulle.

From the bottom of the tulle, you should put the desired length up (for example, from the floor to the bottom of the hook); plus 2 cm. Everything else needs to be cut off. The processing allowance must be ironed towards the inside of the fabric for the whole width, and then in half.

Currently, ectophor is produced with 2, 3 or 4 strands of support, designed to tighten the tulle width to the desired length of the eaves. If it has 4 threads, an additional line is usually laid in the middle between them. In other cases, it is enough to sew the extraphora with two lines, only along the edges.

First, ekstrafor must be stitched along the upper edge, departing 1 cm from the top of the tulle. Then, to avoid twisting the fabric during the sewing process, its lower edge is fixed with pins.

Then they pave the line along the bottom edge of the curtain braid, remove the pins. At one end of the band, on the wrong side of the braid, you should tie the threads of the hold on the other hand, stretch the braid to the front side so that it is convenient to tighten the tulle.
