We sew a bow tie for a gentleman
In this master class I will talk about how to sew a bow tie. The butterfly will tie, but at the back will be fastened with Velcro. We will need: A flap of fabric; for my butterfly it took 30x50 cm. Paper fleece on a paper base of the same size as fabric. Pattern. English safety pins. Gun with hot glue. Velcro narrow (1 cm) in tone butterfly, 10 cm.
Preparing a pattern. We print this pattern on A4 paper. At least consider the circumference of the neck of the one to whom the butterfly is intended. At this stage you can add or remove several centimeters right on the pattern, then cut out the pattern.
Apply the patterns of both elements to the fleece,we cut and cut without allowances.
We cut the non-woven patterns (with the adhesive side to the fabric) with a pin, iron it with an iron, cut it with an allowance of 0.5 cm. We sweep the car. Leave a hole for eversion; it is better to leave it somewhere in the middle of each element, so it will be easier to unscrew. Cut the corners as close as possible to the line on the wrong side. Turn out both elements, sew up the hole with a hidden seam. Smooth out the details. Tie a butterfly. This process can take as much time as tailoring the butterfly itself. I use this instruction on tying butterflies from the Internet. Now you need to make a clasp. We cut the velcro along - so that its width becomes no more than 0.5 cm.
Glue the adhesive tape to the butterfly with hot glue. That part of the Velcro, which is softer will be longer than hard. We glue the soft part all onto one part of the butterfly, cut a small fragment of 1x0.5 cm from the hard part of the velcro and glue it with hot glue to another part of the butterfly. Enjoy the result.
