Making the formwork - step by step instruction

  1. Mark.To give preference to the plate brand FSF, characterized by high moisture resistance (due to the use in the production of material phenol-formaldehyde resin glue). This plywood does not split and does not swell even in difficult working conditions.

  2. Coverage. The presence on the surface of a plywood sheet of polyvinyl chloride film ensures the absolute resistance of the material to the effects of water / aggressive chemical elements and perfect smoothness. In addition, laminated plywood is more resistant to mechanical loads.

  3. Thickness. The choice of sheet material thickness directly depends on the scale of the work and can be from 15 to 21 mm.

When undertaking the creation of formwork, it is necessary to prepare the following materials / tools in advance:

  • plywood sheets;

  • wooden beam;

  • fasteners;

  • props;

  • hacksaw;

  • spatula.

Making the formwork is a fairly simple process. To create a quality multi-turn product, the following algorithm of actions is recommended:

  1. Clearly define the required formwork dimensions.

  2. Make a detailed layout of timber and plywood sheets.

  3. Carefully cut the elements with a hacksaw.

  4. Make a framework for the formwork of wooden bars (the width of the frame must clearly correspond to the thickness of the concrete structural element).

  5. Fasten the plywood sheets to the frame, making all the joints on the outer side (this guarantees the maximum smoothness of the inner formwork).

  6. Install props to prevent divergence of the pressure panels of the concrete mix. Stakes may be hammered into the ground, special metal / wooden clamps (depending on the expected loads).

Upon completion, it is necessary to assess the integrity of the structure. When found between the plywood shields crevices should carefully seal them. This will strengthen the formwork and protect the concrete product from defects.
